Can you tell us how you ended up at your workplace and what your duties are?
I am a consultant at Netlight that I got in touch with during my studies. For example, we met at the fair during a Data Girl conference and when I moved to Stockholm we met again and now I work with lots of wonderful people! I work as a UX (user experience) designer, which means that I am responsible for developing user experiences that meet both users' needs and desires and are in line with the company's goals and strategy. This can mean needs analysis, interviews, product development, customer journeys, usability tests, sketches, prototypes and lots of other exciting and challenging!
Why did you get involved with DataTjej and what role did you have?
I saw it as an opportunity to join and develop the forum for girls who are interested in, plugging or working in IT and Data. I wanted to be part of, among other things, to create the best possible conditions for all the girls who applied to the IT industry. This by developing and spreading the network and creating a forum where we could pepper, push and boo each other. We who already have an interest in IT or data are the best ambassadors to increase the interest of more girls, younger and older. I think we do best if we feel that we have something or someone who backs us and that we can even take off from and be inspired by.
During my two years on the board, I was responsible for web and communication, but only a small part of all the fun is contained in the commitment to Data Girl.
What is your best memory of your time at Datatjej?
I have many unbeatable conference memories and late nights together with the board when the best ideas were hatched. But the thing that still gave me the most energy and was most cool was to arrange events and meetings for our members and experience the peppery of everyone!
How do you get more young girls interested in plugging IT?
Show them how fun it is and how awesome we are at it! We are ambassadors and possess the opportunity to inspire those who have not yet caught the eye of the IT industry. It is important for us to create forums where we can inspire and give the opportunity to test on the different parts that exist within IT, and in this way we can lower the threshold. We can choose to be role models and share our choices and show and tell how we were inspired by others to get where we are today. This way we open up and encourage you to use our footsteps as a guide to get one step closer to a super exciting industry!
Are you an old Data Girl and want to tell your story? Or do you have any tips on questions we can ask for the next interview? Feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
